Hi! I’m Jorrie.
Most of what I know about parenting I learned in a trial-by-fire fashion. On occasion, actual fire was involved. My kid once ate part of a plastic shopping bag on the way home from the store—I’m not here to judge you.
I discovered early in life that making people laugh is my thing. Finding the humor in a tough situation is how I cope. I would describe parenting as a tough situation.
I enjoy writing about the humor and the heart of parenting. If you can’t laugh about it, you will cry. Sometimes you have to do both, and that’s OK.
I’m notorious for shamelessly laughing at my own jokes.
If I had three wishes, I would get rid of hate, ignorance and calories.
I love coffee, wine, Target and HGTV. (I know, I’m pathetically basic.)
I’m a registered nurse by day and finder of lost things by night. I do an OK job of caring for my handsome man-child and our two adorable kids. The three of them are the peanut butter to my jelly. Mostly, they just break my things and complain about my cooking, but I’d be lost without them.
